About Carrie

Hi there!  Thanks for checking out my Song Blog.

If you want to know more about me, here’s an interview I did with myself:

Q: Besides writing songs and doing this blog, what do you do with your time?

A:  Thanks for asking!  I do a bunch of different stuff.  I teach piano and songwriting to really cool people, mostly kids and teenagers.  I write songs for and perform with Piti Theatre.  I perform my own stuff maybe once a month, sometimes solo, sometimes with my band, The Cherry Street Squad.  I book and promote all my own shows.  I also perform in a covers duo, 2TheMoon, with my buddy, the glorious Shelley Hines.  I go to rehearsals for all of the above.  And I practice a bunch of different instruments with the dream of some day being able to play a decent lead solo!

For more information about my performing and teaching, check out my main website!

Q: Okay, yeah, but what do you like to do that’s non-music related, non-work oriented?

A: Oh sure, well, I love to read.  My favorite is sci fi, but I also just love reading random books that I find on the side of the road.  I also love going to the movies and watching films on giant screens.  I LOVE that.  I have an awesome girlfriend and I love hanging out with her and dancing, hiking, riding bikes, lying around by bodies of water.  I love cooking and eating good food, mostly the eating part.  And I love playing Bananagrams and Boggle; for some reason those games just chill me right out.  Also, I rest a lot in between it all, it’s something I have to do, so I do it.  Rest. Is. Good.

Q: You seem enthusiastic about a lot of things.  Do you collect anything?

A: This is making me feel like I’m filling out an on line dating form!   The answer is: Yes.  Smooth, naturally polished stones.

Q: Favorite food?

A: Really?  Okay: sandwiches (OBVIOUSLY!),  chocolate milkshakes, granola with milk, chocolate chip cookies with milk, oranges, pears, nectarines, watermelon, pretty much anything curried.

A: Favorite color?

Q: Red, yellow, no, green! Blue. Purple.
